Forty Years ago MIllers Tale was created from a love of travelling and creativity.

My sister and I exhibited at major county agricultural shows and sporting events, selling our own distinctive knitwear and clothing. It was a gypsy lifestyle that enabled us to combine a love of beautiful things and far flung places with an unconventional way of selling our creations to an international community of admirers.

In 1995 our original shop was opened in beautiful Helmsley on the edge of the North York Moors ,purely as we loved the location.Five years later, St Andrews became our second shop ,again another beautiful, historic and magical location.

MIllers Tale caters for those who prefer something”just that little bit differen”.It takes a certain amount of tenacity and sense of adventure to find or create the pieces to produce our enchanting collection.

Our knitwear has stood the test of time with many cherished pieces still in wardrobes.The yarns, merino and cashmere have many wonderful properties….sustainable, renewable biodegradeable and totally natural.

Our garments offer stylish,supremely well made designs by our skilled makers in the highest quality yarns from a small family concern and above all…..Brtish.
